The first kind is in your account right now. Charts that admit when your data can’t answer a question instead of drawing a zero and calling it a weakness. Real detail behind your putting and approach numbers. A free trial, a pause button for the off-season, and a long list of fixes you asked for by name.
The second kind isn’t switched on yet. Your phone is about to become a proper swing camera, and your coach is about to be in the app with you. Both are close enough to show you, so they’re at the end of this post as previews rather than releases.

If your data can’t answer a question, the chart now says so, instead of drawing a zero that reads like a weakness in your game. Honest gaps beat confident wrong answers.

A chart that guesses is worse than no chart at all. Much of this month went into making sure the numbers you’re reading are ones your data can actually support.
Charts No Longer Invent a Zero
If you’ve got no data for something, the chart now says so instead of drawing a zero and making it look like a weakness. Charts your data source simply can’t fill are hidden rather than shown empty.
Deeper Putting Detail
New views show your first-putt distance, strokes gained putting hole by hole, and how often you actually hole the first putt from a given range.
Approach Dispersion Without the Club
When we don’t know which club you hit, approach dispersion now groups your shots by distance band, so the chart still tells you something useful.
Your Device Sync Got Quieter and More Reliable
Rounds that sync from your tracker land more cleanly now: no double-counted putts, no rounds quietly lost, and a clear read on progress while your older rounds backfill. We also ask for permission to pull your history up front, so there’s no second trip.
Golf Pad Rounds Sync On Their Own
Connect your Golf Pad profile once and rounds flow in hourly, lie types and fairway-hit outcomes included. That replaces pasting in one round URL at a time.

Fix a Round Properly
Delete a hole you shouldn’t have started, drag the pin to where it actually was, and see putts numbered by their stroke on bigger, clearer markers. Your club choice survives a re-sync, and saving no longer resets the map.
No More Pin Nagging on Old Rounds
Rounds more than a week old stop asking you to place pins.
Shared Links Look Like Something
A shared round or session now unfurls with a real preview card in messages and on social, and the page behind it carries a genuine breakdown of that round rather than a template.
Show a Playing Partner What This Looks Like
Anyone can upload a launch monitor file, or link a round, with no account at all, and get a report back by email. Useful when you want to show someone what AVA Golf actually does.
Sign-In Snags Cleared
Google sign-in works on a cold page load and in Chrome, and campaign links survive the trip through login.

A Faster App
We trimmed the API, the bundle, and the memory the app uses, and moved heavy reads off the main database. Pages load quicker, the busy ones most of all.
And plenty of smaller polish besides: one consistent header across every section, a big pass on how everything behaves on a phone, mouse-wheel scrolling on desktop, on-brand error pages, and a pile of quiet reliability work you’ll feel without ever seeing it.
Sneak Peek: Your Phone as a Swing Camera
Everything above is live in your account today. This isn’t, yet.
Recording your swing has always meant propping a phone against your bag and hoping you caught it. We’ve spent the summer fixing that, and it’s close. Here’s what’s coming.
Your phone becomes the camera. AVA Golf will run as a real app on iPhone, with capture using the real camera. You’ll scan a QR code to join a session and watch a live preview on your desktop while you record.
Hands-free recording. The app will spot your swing and record it on its own, so you’re not walking back to your phone between shots, and it’ll go above 60fps when you want slow-motion detail.
Several angles, one swing. Point more than one phone at the same swing and every angle will open together in the analyzer, lined up and ready to compare.
Markup lines drawn for you. AVA Golf will measure your body position frame by frame and draw the markup for you, hand path included, with room to add your own lines, a text note, or a voice note on top.
A swing report on your own numbers. A report on the swing you just recorded: the metrics, what it found, and a verdict. There’ll be a 3D view you can rotate, and you’ll be able to open several clips at once to compare side by side or four up.
Review on your phone. Clips will be viewable on mobile, so you can look back at a swing without getting to a desktop.
Sneak Peek: Your Coach, In the App
This one isn’t live for everyone either. Right now it’s switched on for a small group of coaches and players while we get it right, and it’ll open up more widely over the coming months.
Message your coach without leaving the app. Send a message and get a reply in real time, with an unread badge in the nav so you know when one arrives. If you’re away from the app, we’ll email you so nothing sits waiting.
Send a swing, a round, or a session into the conversation. Attach a swing clip, a round, or a practice session directly to a message, along with any files or images. Your coach sees the actual data instead of a photo of your screen.
Book a lesson in a few taps. Your coach publishes their availability and you pick a slot. You both get a calendar view of what’s booked, a reminder before it starts, and a heads-up if anything moves. Coaches who already run their own booking tool can connect that instead.
Notes that stay between you and your coach. Coaches get a proper notes hub for each player, with annotation and snapshots on a swing. Private notes are stripped out of anything that gets shared.
Coaches can switch between coaching and playing. If you coach and you play, you’re no longer locked into one mode. Flip between your own game and your roster whenever you like.
